Frequently asked questions
Have questions about PeptideSource? We've got answers!
Visit help centerNo. PeptideSource is a research-use-only discovery and comparison platform. We organize supplier listings, COAs, and pricing data to help you make informed decisions — but we do not sell, ship, or handle peptides directly.
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a lab report that verifies a peptide batch's identity, purity, and quality. PeptideSource surfaces COAs from suppliers — typically including HPLC purity results and mass spectrometry data — so you can review test results before purchasing from a vendor.
We normalize each supplier listing to a price-per-milligram by dividing the listed price by the total peptide content in milligrams. This lets you compare products with different vial sizes and concentrations on equal footing, regardless of how the supplier packages their product.
Research use only (RUO) means peptides listed on PeptideSource are intended for laboratory and research purposes — not for human consumption, clinical treatment, or diagnostic use. PeptideSource is an information platform for researchers comparing suppliers and quality data.
Trust scores reflect a combination of verification status, COA consistency across batches, listing accuracy, and community feedback. Suppliers with a longer track record of reliable test results and transparent documentation score higher. Scores are informational, not endorsements.
Our data is sourced from publicly available supplier listings, normalized into a consistent format, and reviewed by our team. COA documents and pricing are attributed to the original supplier — PeptideSource aggregates and organizes this information but does not independently test products.
